Shadow Art

By cutting out paper and putting it in front of a light source, the shadows became a pretty picture! So, I helped make a shadow garden!

The flowers of the shadow garden are very easy to care for as they do not need water and still look pretty. Batteries for the lamp are not included.

I liked making the flowers for the shadow garden but cutting out some of the more detailed flowers took a lot of patience and sometimes they would tear and the garden would lose another flower. However, it looked good in the end. I liked designing my own flowers for this piece and I would like to possibly do this project again with more time and a bigger light source so I can make a bigger shadow garden.

Drawing Turtles

By looking at the wonderful model, Cupcake:

I made contour line drawings of her. She sometimes did not stay still and blind contour line drawings with a moving turtle can be a little tricky. Yet, it was good practice with contour line drawings, and a change from contours of hands as well.

Light Drawing

From the use of glow sticks and cameras, I was able to make drawings that glow and seem to almost float within the photo.

These were really fun to make but with the time limit given by the camera, drawing to slow sometimes became a serious problem. The photo would sometimes develop with an unfinished drawing, causing a redo of the drawing yet again but, the ones that turned out finished looked really good and I enjoyed making them overall. I would definitely like to try this again with even more colored glow sticks.

Cassette Art

By using the film within a cassette tape, I made a hilarious piece that I like to call, the Rick Astley.

Isn't it gorgeous?

I think that the piece turned out pretty good. A lot better than I thought it would at first, since I was making a person. However, it took a very long time to create. The gluing of cassette tape seemed to last forever. I personally would try to make the process faster in some way or form.

I hope this piece will put a stop to all those people who Rickroll me!

Animal Hands

For the Animal Hand assignment, I had a lot of trouble on deciding what animal to draw on my contour line drawing of my hand. I had thought about things ranging from a simple dog to a narwhal! Then it came to me, a peacock!

I simply colored in the hand with markers, and thus, an awesome peacock was born... on my hand...

In general, I really enjoyed making this piece. I was the only one who made a peacock! I think if I did do this project again, I would probably have started working on it earlier since I was in a rush to get it done on time.
